The Hong Shi Xiang Pu ("Hong Family Incense Manual") was compiled by Hong Chu (style Jufu, of Nanchang) in the Northern Song dynasty.
Content
In four volumes it records incense varieties, formulas, blending methods and customs of burning and heating incense, preserving much material now lost elsewhere.
Legacy
It is regarded as one of the earliest extant specialised incense books and directly influenced later manuals.
